The School of International Studies (SIS) is Pacific's window to the world. Through international, interdisciplinary and intercultural immersion, we prepare students to succeed in a variety of professions in industry, government, not-for-profit organizations and educational institutions.

Analiese RichardDr. Analiese M. Richard, Associate Professor of Anthropology and Faculty Chair in the School of International Studies was one of the recipients of this year's  Eberhardt Teacher/Scholar Award. The award recognizes exemplary teaching and scholarship.

Seniors - Khatijah Corey, Amy Dupont, Sarah George, and SIS Junior, SIS Phi Beta Kappa AwardeesNathan Chau joined their classmate Kiel Batanian (inducted in 2012 as a Junior) as members of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society at the University-wide Ceremony, May 3. Congratulations to them and all of Pacific's Phi Beta Kappa members.

Morgan StonefeltSIS senior, Morgan Stonefelt, was the recipient of the Jesse Marks Co-Curricular Award given at the Faith Davies All-University Leadership Awards Ceremony. This award recognizes a graduating senior for their involvement in organizations and activities outside of the classroom and in the community.

SIS seniors and faculty were recognized for their outstanding achievements at the Annual Senior Awards Banquet on April 5th. Kiel Batanian received the Pedersen Award for Academic Excellence, Sarah George was named Outstanding Graduating Senior and Dr. Niru Yadav received the Outstanding Teacher for the Year 2012-13. More awards>>

Nicholas D. Kristof

2013 Gerber Lecture Series - Nicholas D. Kristof, New York Times op-ed columnist and two-time Pulitzer Prize winner was the featured  speaker. Mr. Kristof discussed, "What do Americans need to know about the world and how do we make sure they do?" The event was attended by about 650 students, faculty, staff and community members and was held at Faye Spanos Concert Hall.
